Ranking The Best Halo Games (Part 2)

Halo remains one of the biggest gaming titles in the first-person shooter genre. This list looks to compile the best this series has to offer. With 13 total titles, several stand above the rest. Here is a look at some of the best games Halo has in its collection. Previous game titles featured amongst the series’ best include Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 2, and Halo: Reach.

Halo 4

Halo 4 combined every great feature of the previous three titles and rolled it into one game. This version has been constantly hailed as the most complete Halo adaption ever made. Halo 4 features more obstacles, weapons, and modes than any other title in the series’ long history. This version was created with an emotional aspect – Master Chief and Cortana’s relationship was explored extensively. With so many intricacies, it’s easy to see why this game took developers nearly three years to complete.

Halo 3

Many fans of the series see Halo 2 as a misfire on several different levels. The disappointing outcome of Halo 2 resulted in the most anticipated title in the series’ history: Halo 3. With enormous expectations, 3 somehow did live up to the hype. This was the first version of the game to allow users to control characters other than Master Chief. In just its first week of release, Halo 3 made more than $300 million. 3 has sold a total of 14.5 million copies, making it the fifth best-selling game in the history of the Xbox 360 console.

Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo: Combat Evolved started the revolution that is first-person shooter games. Combat Evolved could easily be viewed as the most influential and powerful title of that entire genre of games. This original title formed the basis for the entire series – gameplay, story-line, and modes. Versatility was a reason why this game was so successful. Users could switch from first-person to third-person at any moment. It was a fast-paced, interactive shooter activity unlike any game ever created. This title still holds up, 16 years after its release.
